About the programme

A structured pathway from ideation to venture creation

The Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC) embeds entrepreneurship education directly into the university experience — shifting students from a job-seeker mentality to a job-creator mindset.

Inside a Nigerian university innovation hub with tiered seating and workspaces

EIBIC is a mandatory entrepreneurship development programme for fresh students at participating tertiary institutions. It runs concurrently with their degree across all faculties — from the sciences and engineering to the arts and business — and upon completion, students graduate with dual credentials: their academic degree plus a recognised entrepreneurship certificate.

Each participating university delivers EIBIC through its own student portal; this website is the federal hub that links them all in one trusted place. If you have an idea, an interest or a talent, EIBIC gives you the structure and support to turn it into an enterprise.

Key structural elements

How the programme is delivered

Early exposure

The programme begins with 100-level students through orientation seminars and structured entrepreneurship sessions — building the entrepreneurial mindset from day one.

Concurrent learning

EIBIC activities run alongside students' degree programmes throughout their academic journey — complementing core studies, never competing with them.

Practical entrepreneurship training

Students are exposed to real-world business concepts, innovation strategies and hands-on startup development — learning by doing.

Incubation and mentorship

Participants gain access to mentors, incubators, accelerators and potential funding opportunities to nurture their startup ideas into real ventures.

The journey

Four stages, one continuous path

Each stage builds on the last, running in parallel with the student's academic programme.

1

Ideate

Orientation and structured sessions help 100-level students discover and shape entrepreneurial ideas.

2

Learn

Practical training in business planning, innovation strategy and enterprise management.

3

Incubate

Mentors, incubators and accelerators refine promising ventures and prepare them for market.

4

Launch & certify

Access funding pathways, launch the venture, and graduate with a dual credential.

Graduate with more than a degree

Upon completion, students receive an additional entrepreneurship certificate alongside their academic degree — a clear signal to employers, investors and partners.

  • Recognised entrepreneurship certification issued alongside the academic degree.
  • Demonstrated experience taking an idea from concept toward a real venture.
  • A network of mentors, incubators and peers built during the programme.
